Brinsley

P5030024Brinsley Davis hails from Providence, Rhode Island. She started her dance career studying ballet under Christine Hennessey and performed with Festival Ballet for seven years. She graduated cum laude from Goucher College in Maryland with a BA in Literature and was named Most Valuable Dancer in 2000. As a dancer and percussionist Brinsley has performed in Boston, New York, Providence, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Canada, Italy, Chile, and Spain.

Since moving to the Twin Cities and co-founding Three Dances, Brinsley has enjoyed a successful performing and choreographic career. She is honored to have worked with two choreographic mentors, Deborah Jinza Thayer and Laurie Van Wieren. Past performance highlights include embodying the voice of Yoko Ono for Hijack’s Yoko Show, dancing in a dumptruck with the Body Cartography Project, and wooing Baryshnikov on stage in a leotard. Brinsley has sat on several grant boards and career panels. She has been expanding into film work recently, including the lead role in the film short “Freshies”.
